Epson 4880, Epson Stylus Pro 4880

The Epson Stylus Pro 4880 printer is the gold-standard for professional desktop printing. The Stylus Pro 4880 excels in the most rigorous printing applications, making it the ideal printer for graphic design firms, photo labs, commercial printers and the most demanding studios. The Epson Stylus Pro has an advanced eight color printing system that exceeds the quality of older sixteen color printers. The Pro 4880 printer uses Epson's advanced UltraChrome K3 ink with Vivid Magenta that vastly improves the quality of color and black and white prints. Not only does the Stylus Pro 4880 print with consistent quality, the wide print head and powerful engine make this printer one of the fastest models ever made by Epson.

Nozzles and Print Heads
To ensure prints are always perfect, the Epson Stylus Pro 4880 printer has built in sensors that align the print heads and clean the nozzles based on the quality of the printing. Although each nozzle is coated is a non-stick finish, the sensors will clean any nozzle before it is fully clogged. These sensors also align the multi-directional print heads and nozzles for accurate printing of the smallest details. Each cartridge has its own color channel with 180 precision nozzles. The wide print head and high-powered print engine print photos faster than ever before. The Stylus Pro 4880 printer uses the newest MicroPiezo Active Meniscus Control (AMC) print head developed by Epson. This advanced device determines the size and shape of each ink droplet released from the nozzle for high-quality photos that are printed faster and more efficiently.

Media and Printer Feed
For ultimate versatility, the Epson Stylus Pro 4880 has four media feed options, including a high-capacity paper tray, roll feed, manual top feed, and straight through feed. The straight feed can accommodate rigid stock up to 1.5 millimeters thick. The Pro 4880 prints edge to edge on stock up to 17 inches wide. The paper tray holds 250 sheets of paper up to 17" x 22" or 50 sheets of heavy photo paper. The roll feed accommodates two and three inch diameter rolls of printable media. For completely border-free prints, the Stylus Pro 4880 automatically cuts off the border on the top and bottom of media roll prints. The Epson cuts paper with more precision than a manual cutting device for finished prints that don't require additional trimming or squaring off. The advanced technology used in the Pro 4880 results in high-quality images on any type of media. The Epson Stylus Pro 4880 printer also prints on the back of a printed image without damaging the finished surface.

B Cartridge yields vary considerably based on images printed, print settings, paper type, frequency of use and temperature. For print quality, a variable amount of ink remains in the cartridge after the "Replace Cartridge" indicator comes on. The printer ships with full cartridges and part of the ink from the first cartridges is used for priming the printer. Printer ships with 110 ml cartridges. Photo Black cartridge included, Matte Black must be purchased separately. Seewww.epson.com/cartridgeinfo for more information about cartridges.
CInk lightfastness rating based on accelerated testing of prints on specialty media, displayed indoors, under glass. Actual print stability will vary according to media, printed image, display conditions, light intensity, humidity and atmospheric conditions. Epson does not guarantee longevity of prints. For maximum print life, display all prints under glass or lamination or properly store them. Visit www.wilhelm-research.com for the latest information.
