4. 2" Spindle vs. a 3" spindle: The reason many thick art papers are supplied on a 3" core is to help mitigate curling issues.

You do not need a 3" spindle to print on a paper roll that has a 3" core. You can very easily just use the 2" spindle supplied with your printer. Just exactly as you would normally load a roll of paper, load the 3" core onto the 2" spindle in the exact same manner. The roll will sit loosely on the spindle, but this makes no difference when it comes to your printmaking. Just go ahead and print!

Note: If you are using a R1800 or R2400 printer, you will not use a spindle (it is not provided with your printer) however the same concept applies. You can fit the roll with a 3" core onto the end pieces that are provided with your printer by just loosening the paper on the roll a bit to make it fit.
