Epson Stylus Photo R2000
The Bottom Line
If you’re finding even the more advanced home photo printers are a bit lacking, the Epson Stylus Photo R2000 is a good step-up into the more advanced capabilities that a prosumer printer offers. The eight colors of inks provide a wider color gamut than the typical four colors of a home printer, and can reproduce more subtle shades resulting in better looking prints.

I used the Epson Artisan for over a year to print custom invitations and the prints were really great with that printer but it ALWAYS jammed on me and drove me insane when printing with cardstock. So I splurged and purchased this Stylus to replace it. It's fantastic!! I will say the print quality is the same as I got from the Artisan (AWESOME!) but it handles cardstock SOOOO much better. It's print speed is on the slow side if that will be an issue for you. I find the beautiful prints worth the wait.
The picture quality is absolutely brilliant. I didn't know what to expect from a home photo printer but I had read so many reviews and run across so many people that have this model that I decided to bite the bullet. I'm a full time scrap booker and amateur photographer so I print a lot of photos. I like the freedom and flexibility of deciding how I want my photos printed on the spot instead of sending them out for print and realize that a different size photo would have worked better.
Yes, the printer is rather large and bulky and yes, it's a bit loud and slow but, it works great. After a few initial set-up issues I've had no other problems with this printer. I would recommend it. The quality is great.
