BREATHING COLOR ANNOUNCES BRILLANCE CHROMATA BRIGHT WHITE OBA-FREE CANVAS

Breathing Color, Inc. is proud to announce the release of the Brilliance Chromata White line of fine art canvas. The Brilliance Chromata White is a premium grade fine art canvas specially designed for high-end giclée reproductions that require exceptional color gamut and archivability. The Chromata canvas is a bright white 20.5 mil canvas poly-cotton blend that is exceptionally stable for longevity since it is acid free, and pH neutral without optical brightening additives (OBAs) or fluorescent whiteners.

By eliminating these unstable whitening agent that deteriorate and yellow over time, Breathing Color expects the Brilliance Chromata White to be one of the most archival canvas products on the market. Despite the absence of these whitening agents it is still exceptionally white, and it also has a water resistant surface and works well with both solvent and water-based top coats such as Breathing Color’s Glamour II Veneer.

The Chromata technology creates a highly stable white base with unsurpassed discoloration resistance to ultraviolet light. Color shifting is reduced by stabilizing the whiteness of the base with a special anti-oxidation technology that further protects printed images. Metamerism is also reduced by quenching the Ultra Violet excitation wavelengths resulting in a more stable illumination of an image under different spectral power distributions. The Brilliance Chromata White canvas is the first of a several new upcoming products that will incorporate the Chromata technology. The use of this technology further delivers on Breathing Color’s promise to its customers to deliver cutting edge products. This canvas is designed for pigment inks such as the Epson UltraChrome, and the new K3 inks, but will also work well with dye based inks.
