Option # 3 - Manage Your Own Color Professionally
There is only one way to manage your color workflow and ensure that your prints meet your standards, and that is by managing your own color. First, your monitor must be calibrated. Then, the media you are using must be profiles for use with your specific printer. Even though we may be able to provide you with a generic icc profile for your printer model, every individual printer "drifts" from this and this is why a generic profile will never deliver 100% accurate results.
The good news is that Xrite, the global leader in color science, has made this easier and more affordable than ever with their Colormunki Photo product. Colormunki was designed specifically as a completely integrated color control solution for photographers and printmakers, so that you can get accurate screen to print color matching, every time. Paul Says:
"I have had an opportunity to print on the new Vibrant Rag paper and all I have to say is WOW!! The dmax on this is every bit of what Breathing Color has said. I have been preparing images for my new exhibition for Honduras and I printed one of my black and white images on it and I was simply amazed. It is the closest thing I have seen that replicates the old silver gelatin print...certainly a plus for my museum and exhibition prints!! I love the texture of the paper, as well as, the weight...just an excellent paper for presentation of your image! I have also tried the Glamour 2 sealant on this paper. I have been using this for some time on my canvas, but it was suggested that I consider using it on the paper...I did and with great results! In my opinion, it not only gave a beautiful result as a protective seal, but it also appeared to enhance the beautiful texture of the paper. One thing I noticed is it did cause the paper to slightly curl, but after it completely dried, the paper relaxed to a nice, flat piece of art! Great combination! I am certainly going to be using this on my exhibition images "Honduras and her People". I believe it will add the protection and durability needed as these images travel internationally. " |
