Epson 7900 HDR(High Dynamic Range) Ink Technology
The UltraChrome HDR Ink technology featured in the Epson 7900 includes a 10 ink pigment-based system. The one-of-a-kind HDR pigments provide an unusually high range of colors and includes totally new green and orange inks. The short term color stability is absolutely unbelievable and reduced gloss differential is supplied by the improved Microcrystal Encapsulation Technology. Although the physical size of the ink cartridges have been greatly reduced, the ink delivery for all print speeds is highly reliable due to the pressurized ink cartridge technology. Cartridge replacement is easy and can be done quickly. There is a total of eleven ink cartridges in the unit, which are available in sizes of 150, 350, and 700 ml. All ink cartridge sizes have the ability to be mixed and matched. The unit also includes three-level black ink technology as well as the ability to switch the black ink mode to Photo or Matte black.
Epson 7900 MicroPiezo Print Head Technology
The Epson 7900 is specially equipped with a MicroPiezo ten channel, high precision TFP print head. This technology allows for optimal photographic quality along with minimal print time. The simple tension lever that is part of the spindle-free roll media loading feature ensures secure and fast media core loading. The roll media length tracking and identification system features an automatic roll media length counter that reports in real time and is extremely useful in tracking media rolls that are partially used. The rotary cutting system features the capability to cut all types of media, including fine art paper and canvas. It has also been designed to be maintenance free and is able to make cuts quickly, with the ability to slice a 24 inch wide roll in less than two seconds.
The Epson 7900 also gives consumers the option of adding a SpectroProofer. With this option being driven by the current RIP software, just about any color management process can be totally automated.
